ADVICE
At low ambient temperatures, a cold engine may emit more smoke (white
smoke) than usual.
If you place the warm-up switch in the "ON" position, the engine can be warmed
up faster and the exhaust smoke can be reduced.
In certain situations where the starter switch is placed in the "ON" position or
the brake pedal is pressed several times during idling, the vacuum may be
depleted and a warning buzzer may sound.

CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS
1. If your vehicle is equipped with a
manual transmission, fully press the
clutch pedal.
If your vehicle is equipped with a AMT
system, make sure that the gearshift
lever is in the "N" position and firmly
press the brake pedal.
2. When the starter switch is turned
to the "ON" position, the glow plug
indicator light comes on and it goes
out in about 0.5 seconds when the
engine is warm, or in about 4 seconds
when the engine is cold.
3. After confirming that the glow plug
indicator light has gone out, turn the
starter switch to the "START" position
to start the engine.
If your vehicle is equipped with an
idling control knob, use the knob
to stabilize the engine speed when
the engine runs rough during warm-
up, regardless of the position of the
warm-up switch. When your vehicle
has warmed up, fully turn the idling
control knob counterclockwise and
run the engine at idle.
