Configuration Procedures

Configuration Introduction

You can use the LP 100R TDU to create up to 999 printer configurations, each
identified by a numeric value from 001 to 999. The factory default configuration is
identified as Configuration 000.
To set up or change configurations, you access the
the Supervisor menu). See
Note: The factory default configuration, which must be available to control
printing if no configuration or an invalid configuration has been loaded, can not be
modified. It can, however, be recalled and assigned a new configuration number
which, in effect, provides 2 copies of the default configuration. The original copy is
retained as 000, and the second copy that has been assigned the new number is
used as the basis for creating new configurations.

Printer Start-up

When the printer successfully completes the start-up procedure, the last
configuration used, either default or user defined, automatically loads.

Modifying or Creating a New Configuration

When modifying an existing configuration or creating a new configuration, it is
helpful to know the current settings to ensure that all of the settings are correct.
To identify these current settings:
Print out a Status Page, which shows the current settings active on the printer,
as well as the current active configuration number.
Print out the Stored and Default Configuration, which shows those
configuration numbers that are already defined on the printer and the settings
for each of these configurations.
An example of the Status Page and the Stored and Default Configuration follows.
