D. Scanner Drive Assembly
1. Removing the Scanner Drive
Assembly/Scanner Motor
1)
Remove the upper rear left cover and the
reader unit rear cover.
2)
Disconnect the connector [1], and remove the
four screws [2]; then, remove the scanner
motor [3] together with the mounting plate.

Remove the two screws [6], and remove the
O-ring [7] from the scanner motor.

Whenever you have replaced the
scanner motor or removed it, be
sure to install the O-ring before in-
stalling the motor to the machine.
2. Adjusting the Belt Tension When
Installing the Scanner Motor
1)
When tightening the screw, be sure that the
belt is free of slack (i.e., move the motor to the
right).

3. Routing the Scanner Cable

Keep the mirror positioning tool (FY9-
3002-000) near at hand when routing the
scanner cable.
1)
Remove the left cover and the hopper left
cover.
2)
Remove the control panel.
3)
Remove the vertical size plate and the glass
retainer right; then, remove the copyboard
glass.
