Synchronization - Barcode synchronization mark for unperforated paper

Synchronization - Barcode synchronization mark for
unperforated paper
Introduction
A barcode is created as a synchronization mark on each page within the print field
for unperforated paper. Each barcode is 50.8 mm (= 2 inches) in height and 10 mm
in width.

The proper positioning of pages of unperforated paper is carried out as follows:
Unprinted paper
PTL marks are created by the printing system (paper transport tractorless). The
position and size of these rectangular areas can be set individually in the
sub-menu <Paper> <Sheets> <Mark type> = <PTL mark> <Mark position>.
Pre-printed positioning marks
The printing system can be set to the position and size of positioning marks
already on the paper in the following menu: <Paper> <Sheets> <Pos. Prepr.
Mark>.
Note:
Optical monitoring can be switched off in certain cases when using unperforated
paper. However, we recommend that you always use the standard setting, especially
when printing confidential and/or personal data, e.g. invoices, account statements,
tax statements, etc.
Only the interplay between the electronic control and the optical synchronization
mark monitoring guarantees a correct allocation of printed front and reverse
sides.
The standard setting is selected in the <Printer> menu:
<Tractor holes> = <On> and
<Mark type> = <Synchronization mark>.
