What is i-Channel?
The i-Channel service distributes news,
weather, etc. as graphics-based information to
i-Channel-compatible terminals.
You can run the latest information updates
in the stand-by display as Telop text by
automatically getting this information on a
regular basis. You can also display a list of
channels and view the channel you want by
pressing
(P.179).
i-Channel is a paid service that requires a
subscription. (To apply for the i-Channel
service, the subscription to i-mode is required.)
There are two types of channels: "Basic
channel" provided by DoCoMo and "Favorite
channel" provided by IP (information service
providers). "Basic channel" is free of the
packet communication charge for automatic
updates of information. "Favorite channel"
allows you to register your favorite channels
but the packet communication charge is
required for automatic updates of information.
The packet communication charge is required
when you view detailed information. Also,
