Placing Strata CS calls from an external station

There are two types of external stations:
An IP phone.
Strata CS stations. You can place calls as if from your desk phone (see
Strata CS calls with an IP phone external station" on page

Once you pick up and replace the handset, Strata CS will send your incoming
calls to the phone's new location.
A phone at an external phone number.
like regular Strata CS stations, except that in order to place Strata CS calls
using the phone, you must first call your Strata CS system and log on. See the
next section.
This section does not apply to IP phones. No special procedure is required to place
Strata CS calls from an IP phone external station.
From a non-IP external station, use one of the following procedures to place outbound
Strata CS calls:
Using ViewPoint
Use any ViewPoint command to place the call. Your external station rings to connect
you to the call.
Using the phone

Call your office from the external station and log on to your account. See
"Logging on to Strata CS from a remote number" on page

Press to get an internal dial tone. Then do one of the following:

To place the call without ViewPoint call control or Strata CS call waiting,
simply dial the call (including access code).
To enable ViewPoint call control and Strata CS call waiting for the call,
press

to Strata CS lasts, Strata CS treats further calls you make as coming from
your external station, enabling Call Monitor control and full ViewPoint
integration on those calls.
Disconnecting from a call and remaining on the line
You can disconnect from a call and remain on the line, which is useful when placing
a series of calls through Strata CS. By disconnecting from your current outgoing call
only, you do not have to repeatedly dial into Strata CS. Your connection with Strata
CS continues, and you can proceed to make more outgoing calls.
