To do...
Enter interface view of the
outgoing interface of the
protected LSP
Bind the bypass tunnel with
the protected interface
c
CAUTION: Bypass tunnels do not protect bandwidth by default. This can defeat
your attempts to binding a primary LSP to a bypass tunnel. Therefore, when
configuring a bypass tunnel, you must configure the bandwidth that it is intended
to protect with the mpls te backup bandwidth command.
Configuring node protection
To use FRR for node protection, you need to perform the tasks in this section on
the PLR and the protected node. If you only need to protect links, skip this section.
Follow these steps to configure node protection:
To do...
Enter system view
Enter MPLS view
Enable RSVP hello extension
on current node
Exit to system view
Enter the view of the interface
directly connected to the
protected node or PLR
Enable RSVP hello extension
on the interface
n
RSVP hello extension is configured to detect node failures caused by problems
such as signaling error other than failures caused by link failures.
Configuring the FRR polling timer
The protection provided by FRR is temporary. Once a protected LSP becomes
available again or a new LSP is established, traffic will be switched to the protected
or new LSP. After this switchover, the PLR polls available bypass tunnels for the
best one at the regular interval specified by the FRF polling timer:
Follow these steps to configure the FRF polling timer:
To do...
Enter system view of the PLR
node
Enter MPLS view
Configure the FRF polling
timer
