5 Multi-step Speed Control Application

5.1 Introduction to Multi-step Speed Control Application

Select the Multi-step Speed Control Application in menu M6 on page S6.2.
The Multi-step Speed Control Application can be used in applications where fixed speeds are needed. In total, 15 + 2 different
speeds can be programmed: 1 basic speed, 15 multi-step speeds, and 1 jogging speed. The speed steps are selected with digital
signals DIN 3, DIN 4, DIN 5, and DIN 6. If jogging speed is used, DIN 3 can be programmed from fault reset to jogging speed select.
The basic speed reference can be either voltage or current signal via analog input terminals (2/ 3 or 4/5). The other one of the ana-
log inputs can be programmed for other purposes.
All outputs are freely programmable.

Programmable Start/Stop and Reverse signal logic
Reference scaling
One frequency limit supervision
Second ramps and S-shape ramp programming
Programmable start and stop functions
DC brake at stop
One prohibit frequency area
Programmable U/f curve and switching frequency
Auto restart
Motor thermal and stall protection: Programmable action; off, warning, fault
The parameters of the Multi-step Speed Control Application are explained in Chapter Parameter descriptions of this manual. The
explanations are arranged according to the individual ID number of the parameter.
