Chapter 4
Setting Up RACs
Managing Remote Access Concentrators Using Annex Manager
4-42
MP is a protocol standard that provides a method to adjust the bandwidth
of a connection between two network devices to accommodate
dynamically changing network loads.
The selections are:
•
MP - specifies the MP protocol standard
•
MMP - specifies the MMP protocol standard
•
Maximum Receive Reconstruction Unit (mrru)
•
Address Assignment - determines the Endpoint Discriminator
Address used:
–
Null - causes the RAC to use the NULL Endpoint Discriminator (no
address)
–
Local - causes the RAC to use to use the local device address of the
ethernet interface of the RAC for the Endpoint Discriminator Address
–
ipaddr - causes the RAC to use to use the IP address of the ethernet
interface of the RAC for the Endpoint Discriminator Address
–
macaddr - causes the RAC to use to use the MAC address of the
ethernet interface of the RAC for the Endpoint Discriminator Address
–
psndn - (Public Switched Network Directory Number) causes the RAC
to use the value stored in the mp_endpoint_address parameter for the
Endpoint Discriminator Address
•
Endpoint Address - Sets the value of the Endpoint
Discriminator Address for Endpoint Discriminator Classes that
allow user-configured information. This parameter is accessed
only when set to PSNDN (Public Switched Network Directory
Number)
PPP Authentication to a Remote Peer
You can enable PPP authentication for remote users by entering the
Remote Username and Remote Password. These are the user name and
password by which the ISDN Primary Rate RAC identifies itself when
the remote PPP peer asks for authentication. Each can have from 1
through 15 characters.
