If the cutting system is switched on during baling, the bale density will increase
substantially, which makes it necessary to reduce the baling pressure.

To do this:
Short, crumbly straw:
•
Reduce the number of cutting blades or turn off the cutting system or remove the cutters.
The blades can be stored on the right-hand side of the machine.
•
Switch off P.T.O. shaft in headland position.
Small, flat swaths:
•
Reduce PTO speed
or
•
Increase travelling speed
Straw varies greatly in its structure. Even if no cutting system is used, it is not always possible to
work with the highest possible pressure. Tappet strips can be installed additionally on Fortima
V1500 (MC) and Fortima V1800 (MC) (refer to chapter entitled "Floor Conveyor Chain").
Adapt the round baler setting to prevailing conditions.

11.2
Travelling speed
The forward speed during use depends on the following factors:
•
type of crops
•
moisture content of the crops
•
height of swaths
•
ground conditions
Note
The recommended travelling speed is 5 - 12 km/h and must be adapted to local conditions in
actual practice.
•
Do not overload the round baler.
•
When baling a round bale, reduce speed at the start and end of the baling process.
