Prepare a CMIOU for Removal
This procedure can be performed by a customer while the server is running.
Replace a CMIOU when the replacement CMIOU is available.
Complete the following steps before you unseat or remove a CMIOU.
This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
Caution -
discharge. This discharge can cause server components to fail. When you unpack the
replacement part, open the package on a grounded antistatic mat. Always use an antistatic wrist
strap for hardware replacements.
The CMIOU replacement kit includes a plastic cover to protect the CMIOU connectors.
Note -
When you unpack the new CMIOU, be sure to set the connector cover aside. You must install
this cover on the CMIOU that you return to Oracle.
Determine which CMIOU requires service.
