Returning the Server to Operation

These topics explain how to return the server to operation after you have performed service
procedures.

Switch on PDU Circuit Breakers

Note -
power supplies, and then to the even numbered power supplies, applies to factory-installed
configurations with a SPARC M8-8 or SPARC M7-8 server in the bottom of an Oracle rack.
In other configurations, where a SPARC M8-8 or SPARC M7-8 server might be installed
in a different location in the rack, power is still restored first to the odd numbered power
supplies (1, 3, 5), and then to the even numbered power supplies (0, 2, 4). See

Notify users that you are preparing to apply power to the server.

Turn breakers on in the following sequence.
For SPARC M8-8 and SPARC M7-8 servers:
For a SPARC M7-16 server:
where R indicates the right PDU from the rear of the server (PDU B), L indicates the left PDU
