13.6 Restoring Data

When restoring the backup of a machine, the data (e.g., PLC data, TNC data, "full backup") are
restored from an external data medium (e.g. service laptop) to the control's hard disk.
Connection setup
In the upper screen half (laptop/PC contents), select the drive and the directory where you

Caution
When restoring the hard-disk data, the machine must not operate!
The control should be in Power interrupted state.
Never press any key on your control while data transfer is running!
Note
If you work with Ethernet connection, check or make the necessary settings. --> See
"Connection Setup" on page 13 – 172.
Tip: For the original settings for DEFINE NET, refer to file IP4.N00 which you have extracted,
e.g., from the backup file of the corresponding machine. --

Set up a connection to iTNC 530 via TNCremoNT.
--> See "Connection Setup" on page 13 – 172.
Click the bar with the drive information. --> Its color changes from gray to blue, and two
buttons appear at the right side in the bar.
Click the Change folder/drive... button. --> A new window opens.
Now, select the drive and the folder (in the example: C:\Backup Machine Hugo). --> The path
is displayed in the blue bar.
