Appendix V: Changing i-rk01 From Four to Six Digit
50 160
The i-rk01 can be programmed to give either four or six-digit access codes. Doing this
requires you to remove the batteries and re-insert them. Make sure that the control unit is
in Installer Mode first in order to avoid tamper alarms.
Note: Make sure that you have changed the control unit to use the same number of digits
in access codes as you intend to use on the i-rk01. You cannot use six digit codes
on the i-rk01 and four digit codes on the control unit (or the other way round).
To Change The Number Of Access Code Digits:
1.
Enter Installer Menu at a wired keypad.
2.
Open the i-rk01 and remove the front from the case back.
3.
Remove one battery.
4.
Wait approximately 20 seconds for all residual charge to drain from the i-rk01's
circuits.
You can test that the i-rk01 is completely discharged by pressing the "A" key.
When you do so there should be no flashing LEDs or keyclicks.
For six digit codes; hold down keys "A" and "6".
5.
For four digit codes: hold down keys "A" and "4".
6.
Re-insert the battery you removed in step 3.
7.
Release the keys you were holding down.
8.
Re-fit the front of the i-rk01 to the case back. Make sure that the tamper switch
operates.
9.
Leave Installer Mode.
