Note: If you replace a wireless expander then you must teach the identity of the new
wireless expander to any receivers that had previously learned the old expander's
identity. This includes any 762s, 768s or WAMs.

Wired Keypads

Adding Wired Keypads
30 50 160
To add a wired keypad to the bus on an i-onEX control unit use the Installer Menu option
Detectors/Devices – Address Bus Device.
When you add a wired keypad the control unit gives the keypad the next free device
number.
If the keypad you are adding already has a bus device number stored within it, from a
previous installation, then this will cause problems in the new installation. Always ensure
that you default the bus device address before adding it to the bus. You can do this either
manually or by using the option Detectors/Devices – Wired Keypads – Delete Keypad.
(See below.)
16 40
To add a wired keypad to the bus of an i-on16 or i-on40, first remove all power from the
control unit, both mains and battery. Make sure the address link on the new keypad is not
fitted in the same position as any of the address links on keypads already connected to the
control unit. Connect the new keypad and then apply power to the system.
Editing Wired Keypads
To program a wired keypad use the Detectors/Devices – Wired Keypads – Edit Keypad
option.
When you enter the Edit Keypad option the keypad display shows the first item in a list of
the wired keypads known to the control unit. Press  or  to scroll up or down the list. If
you wish to find out where a keypad is located then press "*". The displayed keypad will
sound a continuous tone. Press "#" to stop the tone.
When the Wired Keypad you wish to edit appears press  to select it.
Name
The control unit allows you to give each wired keypad a 12 character name. The control
unit displays the name you give to the keypad when it is reporting faults or other events,
making it easier to locate the affected device.
Partitions (Assigning Wired Keypads To)
30 40 50 160
The control unit allows you to assign keypads to any of the partitions.
When delivered from the factory, or if you restore the control unit to factory settings, then
all keypads belong to partition 1.
Once you have assigned a keypad to a partition then that keypad will display messages
and give tones for the assigned partition(s).
Note: If you do not assign a keypad to a partition (and there is no loudspeaker assigned to
the partition) then users of that partition will not be able to hear entry/exit tones and
alerts for the partition.
