Line Fail Response (For Plug-on or Built-in Module)

This menu lets you program the system to respond with either audible or silent alarms
when the control unit detects a fault on a communication line connected to either a plug-on
or built-in communications module. To program Line Fail Response select
Communications – Line Fail Response.
The exact response depends on whether the system is set or unset, as follows:
Audible
Note: Eaton's Security Business recommends audible response for line fault.
Silent
Disabled

This option allows you to select the protocol used by the
Service Centre.
In control unit software version 4.04 and above the ETSI
Protocol 1 is available by default for all i-on control units
EXCEPT i-on16.
The other protocols available are: TAP 8N1, TAP 7E1 , UCP
8N1 and UCP 7E1.
The option allows you to store the Service Centre's telephone
number.
The default number is 147017094009 for ETSI Protocol 1.
Consult the technical support department of the service
provider that you wish to use. When asking for the service
centre number ask which protocol they support. Press * to
insert a two second pause, if required. The display shows this
as a comma.
This option appears when you select either of the UCP
protocols. The option allows you to record the telephone
number that originated the SMS message. This number is
visible to the receiver of the message.
If the system is unset then the system logs the event. The
keypads produce a short audible tone every minute. Entering a
valid access code silences the sounders and the display
indicates a telephone line fault. The system can be set again
with the line fault present.
If the system is set then the control unit logs the event but does
not give any tone or display. The control unit cancels any
programmed siren delay if the line is out of order when an alarm
occurs.
If the system is unset then the keypad display indicates a
telephone line fault, the LEDs around the navigation key glow
red, and the control unit logs the event. The system may be set
again with the line fault present.
If the system is set then the control unit does not give any
indication or tone but does log the event. The control unit
cancels any programmed siren delay if the line is out of order
when an alarm occurs.
The control unit does not monitor the telephone line.
