Notes:
1.
If a user causes an alarm which would require Installer reset then they have a time
to abort the alarm, which they can then reset themselves. The time allowed for
aborting the alarm can be set by the Abort Timer, see page 100.
2.
These options apply to intruder alarms only and not to HUAs. However, if a
confirmed HUA is started by an initial Tamper alarm, and tamper reset is set to
"Installer", then the installer will have to reset the system after that HUA.
HUA Confirm Time
This option determines the length of the confirmation time for confirmed HUAs. You can
key in any time between a minimum of eight hours and a maximum of 20 hours.
Note that the time must be between eight hours and 20 hours in order to comply with
BS8243:2010 5.4.1.2.
If the confirmation time expires after an unconfirmed HUA, and the HUD is still active, then
the control unit omits the active device and communicates "Omitted HUD" to the ARC. If
the system is unset the control unit displays an alert at the appropriate keypads.
If you wish to generate a confirmed HUA for test purposes only then you can set the HUA
confirm time to "0". Please note that this setting does not comply with BS8243:2010
5.4.1.2.
Tamper as Tamper Only
The purpose of the option is to ensure strict compliance with BS8243 when reporting
Tampers to ARCs. There are two options:
When an unconfirmed Tamper occurs the control unit sends only "Tamper"
Enabled
to the ARC and activates any output programmed as "Tamper" (this
follows Eaton's Security Business's understanding that BS8243, Annex
H.7.1 applies to all Grades).
When an unconfirmed Tamper occurs the control unit sends "Tamper",
Disabled
"General Fault" and "Burg" to the ARC. In addition it activates any outputs
programmed as "Tamper" and "General Fault". (See also Jamming on
page 101 and Supervision on page 100.)
Note: This option does not comply with BS8243.
This option appears only if Confirmation Mode is set to "BS8243", and is initially set to
"Enabled". The option is set to "Disabled" and hidden when the Confirmation Mode is set
to "Basic" or "DD243".
Note: If using Fast Format communications please ensure that one channel is allocated for
Tamper. If you do not do this then the control unit reports tamper as an unconfirmed
Burg to ensure the condition is notified.

Profiles

16 40
In the i-on16 and i-on40 control units this option loads a set of standard entries for all
names, and sets up other options. Once you have loaded the profile you can edit any of
the settings to suit an individual installation.
