ATTENTION
1 Connect an Ethernet AUI drop cable to the interface labeled AUI (see
Figure 127).
2 Secure the AUI cable using the slide lock on the interface.
3 Connect the other end of the cable to an Ethernet transceiver.

Connecting an AUI Interface
Connecting the ARN AUI interface directly to the AUI
interface on an Ethernet station violates IEEE 802.3
standards. The AUI interface is designed only for
connection to a transceiver. The cable must have a 15-
position D-SUB receptacle.
