config fdb destination_hit ports
Purpose
To set specified ports as destination hit ports for the forwarding
database table.
Syntax
config fdb destination_hit ports [<portlist> | all] [enable |
disable]
Description
This command will allow the user to define certain ports on the
Switch as destination hit ports. These destination hit ports will keep
FDB entries learned in the forwarding database table from aging out.
When a packet with a destination MAC address is received by one
of these ports, the packet will refresh the MAC address in the
forwarding database table, once a match has been made, so that it
will not age out.
Parameters
<portlist> - Specify a port or ports to be enabled or disabled as
destination hit ports on the Switch. The port list is specified by listing
the lowest switch number and the beginning port number on that
switch, separated by a colon. Then the highest switch number, and
the highest port number of the range (also separated by a colon) are
specified. The beginning and end of the port list range are separated
by a dash. For example, 1:3 specifies switch number 1, port 3. 2:4
specifies switch number 2, port 4. 1:3-2:4 specifies all of the ports
between switch 1, port 3 and switch 2, port 4 − in numerical order.
<all> - Specifies that all ports on the Switch will be enabled or
disabled as destination hit ports.
[enable | disable] – Used to enable or disable the ports listed in the
<portlist> above to be destination hit ports.
