General notes about maintenance

Unintentional starting of the drive unit
Secure the drive unit to prevent it from being started up unintentionally.
Attach a warning notice to the start switch.

Improper maintenance
Only authorized qualified personnel may perform the maintenance and servicing. Only
original parts supplied by Siemens AG may be installed.
Only qualified personnel may perform the inspection, maintenance and servicing work. Note
the information in the general notes and safety information (Page 404).

Causes
Insufficient ventilation.
Cooling air ducts dirty.
Coolant temperature outside
the permissible range.
Opposing torque too high.
Line voltage too low.
Phase interruption.
Incorrect circuit.

Remedy
Check the cooling air ducts, check the direc-
tion of rotation
Clean cooling air ducts.
Adjust the cooling air to the appropriate
temperature.
Check the motor torque and the load torque.
Check the line supply.
Check the connection to the line supply.
Observe the circuit diagram and rating plate.
Compare data on the rating plate.
Check the connection to the line supply.
