CS 1000 Main Office with MG 1000 B and SRG

The following example shows a sample configuration of bandwidth zones for a Main Office location
and two Branch Office locations. One branch location is an MG 1000B, and the other is a Survivable
Remote Gateway (SRG). Configure the zone tables on both the Main Office and the MG 1000B.
There is no zone table configured on the SRG, but you must define the VPNI and zone ID in the
configuration.
Figure 82: Main Office with MG 1000B and SRG
Configure the VPNI setting to the same non-zero value on the Main Office and each of the Branch
Office and SRG.
Configure the zone tables on both the Main Office and the MG 1000B. The SRG requires no zone
table, but you must define the VPNI and zone ID in the configuration.
In this case, use the following values calculated for 2 Megabits per second (Mbps), 512 Kilobits per
second (Kbps) and 256 Kbps Frame Relay links as follows:
• 2 Mbps = 60 calls using G729A. Sample period 20 ms for G729A is 78 Kbps according to
Converging the Data Network with VoIP Fundamentals, NN43001-260. For interzone
bandwidth, 60 * 78 Kbps = 4680.
• 512 Kbps = 15 calls using G729A. For interzone bandwidth, 15 * 78 Kbps = 1170.
• 256 Kbps = 7 calls using G729A. For interzone bandwidth, 7 * 78 Kbs = 546.
