Note:
The subnet mask must be the same value used for the system Ethernet network.
Note:
The system private Ethernet (ELAN subnet) is used for system access and control. Use
an internet gateway to isolate the system private Ethernet from the Customer Enterprise
Network.
Note:
Routing information is required if an internet gateway or router connects a system
private network (ELAN subnet) to the Customer Enterprise Network. New routes use
network IPV4 classification to determine the whether the route is network or host based.
Note:
INI is required for the activation of subnet Mask.
Perform the following procedure to configure the active ELNK Ethernet interface for the Branch
Office.
Configuring the ELAN network interface IP address
1. Go into LD 117.
2. Create host entries with IP address on the ELAN subnet. Enter the following command:
NEW HOST <hostname> <IP_addr>
3. Configure the ELAN network interface subnet mask. Enter the following command:
CHG MASK <maskvalue>
• <maskvalue> = nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
4. Configure a new Routing Entry. Enter the following command:
NEW ROUTE <destination IP> <gateway IP>
• <destination IP> is the ELAN network interface IP address of the Voice Gateway Media
Card on the MG 1000B Core
• <gateway IP> is the ELAN network interface IP address of the MG 1000B Core
5. Verify the IP address for the Ethernet link. Enter the following command:
PRT ELNK
6. Activate New Host entry. Enter the following command:
CHG ELNK ACTIVE <hostname>
7. Save the ELAN network interface configuration. Enter the following command:
UPDATE DBS
8. For the changes to take affect, enter the following commands in LD 137 to disable and
enable the ELNK:
DIS ELNK
ENL ELNK
