PRI_TDM_calls = PRI_TDM_CCS x 100 seconds ÷ average hold time (PRI_TDM_CCS,
from procedure Calculating traffic, step 7) = 96 x 100 ÷ 120 = 80 calls
2. Calculate the TDM telephone to IP Phone calls (these use virtual trunks).
TDM_IP_calls = TDM_IP_CCS x 100 seconds ÷ average hold time (TDP_IP_CCS, from
procedure Calculating traffic, step 5) = 144 x 100 ÷ 120 = 120 calls
3. Calculate the IP telephone to PRI Trunk calls (these use virtual trunks)
PRI_IP_calls = PRI_IP_CCS x 100 seconds ÷ average hold time (PRI_IP_CCS, from
procedure Calculating traffic, step 6) = 252 x 100 ÷ 120 = 210 calls
4. Calculate the total number of calls at the Branch Office.
Total_calls = PRI_TDM_calls + TDM_IP_calls + PRI_IP_calls = 80 + 120 + 210 = 410 calls
per hour
5. Calculate the Call Server real-time multipler.
• System RTM = 1+ [(PRI_TDM_calls ÷ Total_calls) x f10] + [(TDM_IP_calls ÷ Total_calls) x
f9] + [(PRI_IP_calls ÷ Total_calls) x f4] + error_term
• System RTM = [(80 ÷ 410) x 4.36] + [(120 ÷ 410) x 3.95] + [(210 ÷ 410) x 3.65) = 1+ 0.851
+ 1.156 + 1.87 + 0.25 = 5.127

6. Calculate the Call Server loading in EBC.
System EBC = Total_Calls x System RTM = 410 x 5.127 = 2102
7. Calculate the Call Server loading in percent.
Real Time Usage = System EBC ÷ rated EBC x 100 = 2102 ÷ 150000 x 100 = 1.4%

The configuration loading for the Call Server is very low at 1.4 per cent. Locate this Call
Server at the Branch Office or anywhere within the zone.
