The system messages can also be logged to email recipients. This command does not take effect if the
specified discriminator does not exist. Thus the default setting of the command is applied. Messages
must enter the local message buffer first before it can be further dispatched to email recipients.
Specify the severity level of the messages in order to restrict the system messages that are logged. The
messages which are at the specified severity level or higher will be logged to the email recipients.
Example
This example shows how to enable the logging of system messages with a severity higher than warnings
to email recipients.
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# logging smtp severity warnings
Switch(config)#

logging source-interface
This command is used to specify the interface whose IP address will be used as the source address for
sending the SYSLOG packet. To revert to default setting, use the no form of this command.
logging source-interface INTERFACE-ID
no logging source-interface
Parameters
INTERFACE-ID
Default
By default, the IP address of the closest interface will be used.
Command Mode
Global Configuration Mode.
Command Default Level
Level: 12.
Usage Guideline
Use this command to specify the interface whose IP address will be used as the source address of the
SYSLOG packet.
Example
This example shows how to configure VLAN 100 as the source interface for SYSLOG packets.
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# logging source-interface vlan100
Switch(config)#
