spanning-tree priority
This command is used to configure the bridge priority. It is only used for RSTP and STP versions. Use the
no form of this command to restore to the default setting.
spanning-tree priority PRIORITY
no spanning-tree priority
Parameters
PRIORITY
Default
By default, this value is 32768.
Command Mode
Global Configuration Mode.
Command Default Level
Level: 12.
Usage Guideline
The bridge priority value is one of the two parameters used to select the Root Bridge. The other
parameter is system's MAC address. The bridge's priority value must be divisible by 4096 and a smaller
number represents a better priority.
This configuration will take effect on STP version and RSTP mode. In the MSTP mode, use the command
spanning-tree mst priority to configure the priority for an MSTP instance.
Example
This example shows how to configure the STP bridge priority value to 4096.
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# spanning-tree priority 4096
Switch(config)#

spanning-tree tcnfilter
This command is used to enable Topology Change Notification (TCN) filtering at the specific interface.
Use the no form of this command to disable TCN filtering.

Parameters
None.
Specifies that the bridge priority and bridge MAC address together
forms the Spanning-Tree Bridge-ID, which is an important factor in the
Spanning-Tree topology. The range is from 0 to 61440.
