Description
BERT Pattern
The BERT Pattern used for the test.
Rx bit count
This is the number of kilobits of data received while the BER Test is running
and in pattern synchronization.
Rx bit errors
This is the number of bit errors received while the BER Test is running and in
pattern synchronization.
Degraded
This is the
percentage of degraded minutes during the test, followed by the
minutes
number of degraded minutes. A degraded minute is a one minute interval
where the bit error ratio is worse than 1 x 10 .
Errored
This is the
percentage of
seconds
of errored seconds.
more bit errors are received.
Sev. errored
This is the
percentage of severely errored seconds, followed by the number
seconds
of severely errored seconds
second interval where the bit error ratio is worse than 1 x 10 .
Unavailable
This is the number of unavailable seconds during the test. Unavailable
seconds
seconds are seconds in which the error rate is so high that the link is
considered to be unavailable.
Available
This is the number of available seconds during the test - in other words
seconds
seconds in which the link is considered to be available.
Error ratio
This is the number of bit errors divided by the number of bits received. The
ratio is displayed as X.XE-Y which represents X.X times 10 to the power of -Y.
For example '3.9E-3' represents 3.9 x 10-3 or 3.9 bit errors in 1,000.
Time in
This is the length of time that pattern synchronization was achieved. This is
synch.
displayed in h:mm:ss (where h = hours, mm = minutes and ss = seconds).
OOS secs
Out of Synchronization seconds. This is the complete number of seconds in
which the BER Test is out of synchronization.
Unavailable
This is the period of time, in seconds, in which there were at least ten
OOS secs
continuous Out of Synchronization seconds.
Pass measure
This displays the user defined pass measure of the test (refer to Specifying a
BERT pass measure) followed by the result of the test - either
Test status
The current status of the test is displayed, for example
finished
