Rate (CIR)—that is, to check whether the DCLI is capable
of conveying the required amount of data. aurora
measure the actual CIR that is available by counting the
occurrence of frames with DE bits set.

Available CIR test types

When you select CIR Test, aurora
the maximum line rate. An aurora
end can then receive the data and check the CIR (i.e.
perform a receive test): alternatively, the remote end
can loop back the data to the originating aurora
which checks the CIR by measuring the amount of
data it receives back and checking the status of DE bits
for each received frame.
When you select Receive CIR Test, aurora
measures the amount of information it receives from
the remote end.
