This chapter describes how to operate aurora
power, rechargeable batteries or standard batteries. It also
tells you how to recharge the battery pack and how to
replace the batteries.

Note about using aurora
When you purchase a new aurora
battery packs supplied are not charged - this is to ensure their
long life. Before you use aurora
must charge the batteries for at least five hours.

Using AC Power

You can power aurora
the adapter/charger supplied with the unit. Simply plug the
power adapter/charger into the External DC supply input
socket and switch aurora

Using Battery Power

stores.
2 removable, rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery
packs, provided with aurora
We recommend that you keep any spare battery packs in the
carry-case when not in use.
The battery life under normal working conditions is
approximately four hours, depending on the age of the
battery, the ambient temperature and the circuitry in use.
