Activating a remote loop
2
Notes
You can only send a DSU loop code if the line speed is 56
kbps. You can only apply a CSU loop code if the sealing
current was set to Normal when you assigned the interface.
If you send a DSU loop code:
•
any BERT you have started is stopped.
•
any layer error injection is stopped.
If you start a BERT, any DSU loop that has been established
is removed.
If you apply a CSU or DSU loop, any local loop that has been
established is removed.
To start to establish a loop at the receiving end :
•
Press F1 Apply CSU Loopback or F6 Apply DSU
Loopback.
Your selection is displayed in the Remote Loop Test
window.
Deactivating a loop code
To instruct the receiving end to clear down a particular
type of loop :
•
Press F6 Send Loop Deactivation to display a sub-
menu of loop codes. The codes available depend on
the framing type.
•
Select the appropriate code to clear down the
established loop. The Remote Loop Test window
displays Loop Not Established when the loop is
cleared down.
