Configuring Output

When using the unit for transcode it is important that the Transport Stream being
output is taken from transocde sub-unit. This is achieved by setting the TS Feed
control which is found on the Output web page to Transcoded.
Figure 3.192 Output Setting
If this is not set then the Transport Stream output will not contain transcoded
services but the original input services.
This page is part of the standard IRD functionality and so follows the standard way
of operation. Apply Changes must be used for changes to be registered.

Program Transcoder Alarms

A number of alarms can be produced by the transcode functionality in addition to the
normal alarms generated by the rest of the unit functionality. Listed below are the
key alarms and likely causes.
3-382
Green – Bit rate is allocated between minimum and maximum.
Red – Bit rate allocated is at the maximum setting and may therefore be
affecting quality.
Orange – Bit rate allocated is at the minimum. This may indicate that the
minimum is set too high for the type of easy material being encoded.
Video Fault – This is generated by any video transcode issue (e.g. decode
error, unlicensed).
