Closed Captions

Closed Captions provides a form of data insertion within ATSC systems, this
provides subtitle data (caption data) for programming. Closed captions are provided
within either the video header data of the selected service or via PES. This data is
then provided to down-stream equipment (for example a television) for decode and
display. Provision of this is mandatory within ATSC compliant areas of the world.
