Ingredients
1 kg fl oury potatoes
1 clove of garlic
200 g grated Cheddar
100 ml double cream
Salt, pepper and grated
nutmeg
Butter for greasing

Potato gratin

Peel the potatoes, wash and
slice fi nely.

Peel the garlic clove, cut in
half and rub it around the
inside of the baking dish. Grease
the dish with butter.

Arrange the potatoes in
the bottom of the dish, and
sprinkle half of the cheese on
top. Season with salt, pepper
and grated nutmeg.

Pour over the cream, scatter
with the rest of the cheese
and bake (see below for set-
tings).
