Ingredients
250 g butter
200 g sugar
3 tsp vanilla sugar
4 medium eggs
375 g plain fl our
125 g cornfl our
3 tsp baking powder
125 ml milk
1 pinch salt
30 g cocoa
2 -3 tbsp milk
50 g sugar
1 tbsp rum

Marble cake

Beat together the butter,
sugar, vanilla sugar and salt
until creamy, then gradually add
the eggs and mix until light and
fl uffy.

Mix the fl our, cornfl our and
baking powder and add the
milk, using only suffi cient milk
to form a stiff mixture.

Grease a gugelhupf tin with
butter, add two thirds of
the mixture to the tin and mix
the remaining third with cocoa,
milk, sugar and rum.

Add the dark mixture on top
of the light and swirl the
layers together with a fork.
Place in the oven on the rack
and bake (see below for
settings).
