Key OFF.
Remove throttle body and check the following:
Hold throttle body up to a light source.
No light should be visible belween plate and bore with
plate closed.
Rotate throttle lever and allow it to return.
It should not stick or bind and should return to closed
plate position freely when released.
Does throttle body pass these checks?
Yes Return to Diagnostic Index to check other
driveability symptoms.
Replace throttle body.
Go to step
11.
Key OFF.
Disconnect IAC solenoid.
Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between IAC
SIG test pin 83 and PWR GND test pins 511103 at
breakout box?
Yes Replace PCM.
Go to step 11.
Repair short in IAC

circuit.
Go to step 11.
