REMOVING AND RE
-FITTING THE BRAKE

- From inside, use a taper punch or a tapering
piece of wood (Fig. 4) to plug the equalizer
tank

Disconnect
brake tubes from equalIzer.

- Extract fastener retaining the flexible pipe to
allow
the rear tube to be cleared from its
opening on the equalizer, without bending it
(Fi g.
5).
- Remove

Remove equalizer with its spring (Fig. 7).

OPERATIONS
- Locate
equalizer
in position on Its bracket,
and
anchor spring to suspension ar.,
- Fasten equalizer to its bracket.
- Re-connect brake tubes:
rear brake tube to equalizer rear opening,
master-cylinder supply tube to equalizer
front opening (see Fig. 7 -
section
J5/l ).

- Fit fastener holding flexible pipe to body,

- Adjust brake equalizer.
Note:
The equalizer lever spring must never be removed.
The useful length of the spring is,!ndeed, preset
by
the suppliers.
Consequently, the equalizer, Its lever, and its
spring
are
supplied
as
a Spare Part assembly.
On the other hand, each braking system, whether
mixed or with 4 disc brakes, Is fitted with an
equalizer assembly, which includes a spring with
a resilience adapted to
each
type:
• spring for mixed system: no reference mark,
• spring for 4 disc brake system: coloured
reference mark,
