Ke-fitting the gear control system
-
Prior
to re-fitting the gear control system, check:
condition of gear change control shaft lip seal.
Replace it, if necessary, using fitting tool

- Re-fit:
gear change control
shaft

of reverse "tight
spot" spring (B) );

gear control lever (D) on
.shaft
(remember
to
fit
seal and its
metal cup
between
lever and
half-
housin g).
Tightening
torque:
1.
750

daN.
In neutral, finger (C) and gear control lever (D)
must
be
in the same plane, I .e. a plane
perpendicular to the gear box longitudinal centre-
line (Fig.
33).
-Fit
selector
finger In
position
(Fig. 14).

Fas
ten
selector
lever
on its shaft
(rem
ember to
fit seal and
its
metal
cup between lever and
half-housing).
Tightening torque 1.25 m da N.
-Fit reverse
shaft
and fork (Fig. 13).
Tighten
to 1.25 m da N torque.

reverse
shaft.

sure that the catch used for locking 1st - 2nd
and 3rd- 4th shafts is correctly In position and
slides freely in its housing.
Fit 3rd- 4th shaft
and fork
(Fig. 12).
Tighten
to 1.25 m daN torque.
-Fit lst- 2nd
shaft and
fork.
Tighten to 1.25

- Fit reversing gear and shaft (Fig. 9).
- Fit 3 neutral locking balls, then 3 springs,

fasten retaining plate fitted •ith a new paper
gasket.
