RE-FITTING THE CYLThDlli HEAD
- Make sure cylinder block and cylinder head
.
mating planes are perfectly
~lean.
- Use 111al1 et to f! t both cylf nder head 1 ocatl ng
bushes to cylinder block.
- 011 cylinder head gasket, and fit It on
cylinder block, using both locating bushes.
Note: The reference
~ark

(top),
stamped on the gasket, must be visible after
the gasket Is fitted on the cylinder block.
- Tum crankshaft to bring piston
No.
4 to
T.D.C.
- Turn ca11shaft to set valves In balance
position for cylinder No. 1.
- Fit assembled cylinder head, locating It with
both bushes fitted in cylinder block.
- 011 and fit setscrews fitted rith their flat
washers.
- Follorlng the tightening sequence shorn on
Figure 27, use torque wrench to achl eve:
- prell•lnary tightening to 6

- final tightening to 9

- Tum cylinder block over vertically, flyrheel
dornrards.

Fit crankshaft key in its housing, and fit crank-
shaft pinion in position, setting its bore edge
chamfer
to
first crankshaft journal joining
radius (Fig. 28 ): in this manner, the double row
of teeth, which Is intended for the camshaft
control double chain, wi

be located against the
cylinder block: the other, single, row of teeth
being used for the oil pump drive.
-Assemble timing chain hydraulic adjuster following
the order shorn on Figure 29.

right to lock it In zero position.
