GEAR ::3ELECTION
The
gear
selection
s
ystem is
accommorJated
in the
left hand
half-shell
of th
e
gear
box
, which al
so
carries the
shafts
and gear change control forks.
Each
fork
:
• 1
for
1st
and 2nd
gears
1
for
3rd and 4th
gears
1
for
reverse gear
is
interlocked
~i
th
its own
shaft.
Shafts
(A),
(B),
and (C)
(Fig.
B) slide
in the
machined
bores
inside
the cover,
and
incorporate
a modi se,
which, when
a gear
is
engaged
,
accommodates
a
tenon controlling their
for~·a
rd
or
rearward displacemmt.
