REMOVING AND RE-FITTING
A REAR SUSPEI\ISION SPRING

.H.EMOVAL ffiOCEDURE
- Unlock rear wheel.
-
Set
rear of vehl c 1 e on pins: then remove rear
wheel after marking Its position.
- From body, disconnect hand brake cable retaining
fasteners (on 160 model).
- Fit parallel articulated jack to bear against
underside of differential housing, compress spring,
then disconnect shock-absorber In Its lower
section (Fig. 1).
- Release spring, then remove It, together
with

RE-FITTING OPERATIONS
-Use adhesive tape to hold spring flexible crown In
position In upper cup on body (Fig. 3).
- Fit spring (either directional setting Is
suitable).
- With the parallel articulated jack bearing against
underside of differential housing, compress sprlno,
checking that It Is fitted In correct position, as
well as the flexible crown.
- Fasten shock-absorber to differential housing, then
remove jack.

Set
car on its wheels.
Tl ghten wheel.
