RE-FITTING
THE
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
-
Place an hydraulic
Jack
under
the automatic
ge<Jr
box •
.. Remove gear box
setscrews,
push converter
full
y
in its
gear box housing.
Progressively
clear gear
box
towards rear,
and
remove
gear box.
Note:
\jhcn
removing the gear box take the
greatest
care
not to foul the
starting motor
nose
with
the torque converter housing,

hen transmission has been

eared,
do
not

it
forward, to prev ent the converter
from
fallin
g
out.

- Locate
gear
box in position on cylinder
block.
- Fasten
gear
box
setscrews.
Connect
diaphragm
to converter, using ref.
m arks

when dismantling

Note:
;:hen changing a
diaphragm
or
a
converter, proceed as fo

low

:
the heavy
point
of the
diaphragm
is
marked
with green paint;
the
light point of the conv erter is
marked
with
blue paint.
Bring th:ose two ref. marks face to
face
(with
an
accuracy
of
: 60°) and connect converter to
diaphragm.
For the r emainder
of
re-fitti
ng
operations,
proceed
in r everse
order
from removal
procedure, but
remember
to:
check
oil level;
check
selection system adjustment;
check
adjustment
of kick
rlown
link
age
.

converter,

converter

housing;
turn it

pump.
