BRAKE CONTROL

ON
Main control
The brake pedal ;vhich is
suspended
and
articulated on the pedal
set
supporting bracket,
actuates the power brake through an articulated
control rod.
Pedal
ratio: 3.8 to 1 approximately.
- The
Bendix D.B.A.
power
brake
(Master-Vac
type ), which is fastened to the pedal set
supporti
ng
bracket
inside the
engine
compartment, makes permanent use of the
vacuun in the inlet manifold and of the
at'!lospheric pressure
in operation,
and
allows the pressure required on the pedal for
decel eration to be reduced.
- The

- Tne intarlocked brake equalizer, which Is
connected to

upper suspension arm by
means of an adjustable lever and a
spring,
allows
the hydraulic pressure in the rear
system
to be distributad depending on the
vehicle load
and
in proportion to each front
system hydraulic pressure 1 evel.
Each braking system, i.e.
mixed
discs
and
drums (for vehicles with
1600 c.c. engine), or
4 disc
brakes
(for vehicles with 1800 c.c.
engine),
is fitted !:lith a specific equalizer spring, the
resilience of which is
adapted
to each
case:
spring for mixed system: no Ref. mark,
spring for
4
disc
brake
system:
coloured
Ref. mark.
The adjustment dimension is identical for both
systems;

Emergency or hand brake control
The hand brake system is comprised of:
A manual lever articulated on the floor,
and
including:
a lever, a spring,
and
a brake latch,
a
releasing
push-button.
-A toothed segment
allowing
the lever to
be
locked in several positions by means of its
1 atch.
-A rod, adjustable in length, which
is
inter-
loc ked at one
end
with the manual lever, and,
at the other end, with t he equal! zer.
-A cable connecting the equalizer
with
both
rear brakes.
- Two
R.H.
and
L.H.
sheaths, inside which the
cable slides, each being
fastened:
to t he body,
at
front,
to the brake, at rear.
