INSP~CTION
- Carefully clean
dismantled parts,
except the
following components, which
must be
systematica
l
ly
replaced when
dismantling
l
s
required:
front flange
sealing
cork lining;
cork 1 ining sheet metal retainer;
bearings and cross-pins;
bearing
seals;
bearing
snap-rings;
relay bearing retaining circl!ps.

Make sure t
ha
t universal joint
jaws are neither
badly
distorted
nor cracked.
-
If
one of the half shafts
shows a
fault
requiring its replacement, the propeller
shJft
complete must be replaced.
Th
ese half shafts,
indeed, are
not
supplied
separat
ely,
si nee
they
are
dynamically balanced
once assembled.
- Make sure that the relay rubber ring
does not
show
marks
of ageing
or other faults (cuts, loosening,
etc.).
- The
bea
rin
g
must
be perfectly
sealed,
and
must
run noiselessly without any "ti
gh
t spot
