WHEEL SHAFTS
GENEAAL
SPECIFICATIONS
Power
is
transferred
to the
rear
wheels via two
(L.H. and
R
.H.)
wheel shafts, accommodated
inside the differential
tru~pet
tubes.
Wi
th
each wheel shaft:
The inn er end is interlocked with the grooved
inner bore of one
of the two differential
side
gears.
It runs
on a
sealed ball bearing forced in
position on
the
wheel
shaft, and
held by
a band
also
forced
in position on the latter.
The
outer bearing race is held in a recess in the
differential
trumpet tube by
QCans
of
a
sheet
metal web screwed on
the trumpet tube.
The brake
drur:1,
or
brake disc, and
the wheel
are fastened at
the outer
end.
