AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
ADJUSTMENTS
Adjusting the gear selection control
-Set
and lock
manual control lever on position
"P" (Parking), which is the most forward
position.
-Place
selector
lever, on gear box, in parking
position
( rearmos t position).
- Fit rod linking manual selector lever to gear
box lever.
ThIs must be a free ur1cramped fit.
-Fit bolt fastening link rod to lever.
- Check that, for each
selector
lever position,
locking of the same position on the gear box
lever is obtained (ball seating noise In gear
box).
-Check that it
is
possible to
actuate
the
starting
motor in positions "P"
and
"N",
and
impossible to
actuate
it in the other
post
ti ons.
Check
that
reverse lights can be switched on in
positionPR

- Manipulating the selector lever, check that:
gear
box is released in positions "N" and npu;
it is engaged in the other
positions;
also
check action
of parking brake in
position
npn.

Adjusting the
kick down
control must be carried
out after
the accelerator
control
has been
adjusted as per engine specifications.
-
With
t he butterfly valve closed,
make
sure
that kick down lever, on gear box, is butting
in forward position, with the return spring
into place (the kick down
stop Is
Inside the
gear box).

- Adjust play between screw
(1)
and driving sheet
metal
component
(2), making sure that kick down

ever on gear box is not displaced (Fig.
1 ).

- Tighten lock-nut
after adjust11ent.

Checking:
check th at, with butterfly valve
closed (accelerator
pedal
released), kick down
lever on gear box returns properly to

stop,
