DISMANTLING PROCEDURE
Prior
to
any dismantling
operations, and if
the
origin2l balancing
reference
marks
are
difficult
to see, reference
marks must
be shown
on the
following parts:

Note:
the rear half shaft
is
delivered
assembled

suppliers,

is
coupled afterwards
with
the front half
shaft
in
production.
Consequently,
the rear end of the
rear
half shaft,
and
the
rear
universal joint jaw
do not
carry initial reference
marks.
If
the
rear universal joint, therefore, Is to be
dismantled,
operators
m
ust show
these
two reference
marks.
-Remove transmission flexible joint
(Fig. 1).
- Loosen the flange seal
ing
cork lining
sheet
~etal
reta
in
er (Fig.

Remo
ve flange (FIg.

Do not re-use
the
cork
lining
or sheet
rnetal
r etainer.
Uncouple half
shafts, rlllloving the central
coupling
screw with
an 8
mm
Allen wrench (Figs. 4
