- Fit lower
flexible
ring in
position,
and
fold
both
tabs
down.
Fl tupper
steering
shaft in
position

steering
column tube.
Fit upper flexible ring.
- Locate upper
steering shaft
in position in cardan
joint, following the reference
marks made at
the
rem ova 1
stag&.
- Tighten fastening nut.
Note: if the upper steering shaft is being
replaced, the reference
marks made at
the removal
stage cannot
be
taken into consideration;
it
wi 11
then be necessary to:
-
set rack ir central position, i.e. to
set
the
flexible joint upper cross-pin parallel with the
steering rack centre-line (Fig. 11);
- set upper
steering
shaft
in
such a position that
the notch used for the automatic return of the
traffic
indicator
control is
inclined at an angle
of 20° to the horizontal (Fig. 12), as seen
from
dri ver

s position.

fasten steering wheel;

- Locate
screws
fastening
the st
eering
column
tube
to
the
dash
panel. in position.
- Adjust pl
ay
between
steeri
ng column
and
combined
switch (from 2
to 3.5
mm];
to
achiev
e
t
his,
displace
tYbe
longitudinally.
- Lock screws
fastening
the
steering
column tube
to
the dash panel.
- Lock coll ar
fastening
the tube to the lower shell.
-
Re-connect
combined
switch connections.
-
Secure
harness to steering column tube.
- Re-connect battery; check operation of combined
switch.
