REMOVING AND RE- FITIING THE
PETROL TANK AND FUEL GAUGE

Removing
operations
- Reraove cap, and remove fi 11 er neck rubber In
fender.
-
Set
car on lifting ra111p.
Raise
lifting
ra~~~p.
-Disconnect flexible
supply
connection between
4243
tank and rll san tube,
and
sl phon tank to dral n lt.
-
Disconnect
gauge, taking note of wire colours.
- Disconnect vent tube regulator.
• Remove collar used to fasten
filler
tube to
side
reinforcement.
- Extract t ank
filler
tube,
and
remove it from
fender (Fig. 1).
- Remove 4 screws fa
s
tening tank to side-member,
and
rem ave tank.
- Use special wrench
made as per
(Fig.
3)
to renove
fuel
gauge
(Fig. 2).
- Recover vent tube
and
supply tube on gauge.
Note:
the gauge may be removed, on the car, if
the operator uses this special wrench after
draining the tank,
and
disconnecting the electric
wires.
Re-fitting operatior.s
- Use special wrench to re-fit gauge.
Re-connect vent tube and supp 1 y tube.
- Insert filler tube In fender, then
slip
rubber
seal over
it,
and fit it into
place
in fender.

Fit
tank In
position between both side-members,
inserting the vent tube through tht cross bar
reinforcement (Panhard bar ).
-
Fasten tank.
- Slip filler tube fastening collar over tube, and
Insert tube
in
tank.
(If necessary,
smear
end
of tube 11i th

water).
- Fasten filler tube collar
to fender

reinforcement.
-
Raise
lifting ramp
anrl
re-connect vent tube to
regulato~
and
supply
tube to
rilsan

- Re-connect
gauge.
- Lower 1 i

Re-fit
tank
cap.
