The TalkSwitch registrar supports digest authentication. Digest
authentication is a challenge/response protocol in which the server
challenges the client, and the client responds by presenting its
credentials. This method of authentication is very secure.
e) If you set Register Authentication to yes (digest), enter the User/
Account name of the TalkSwitch unit. All devices will require this
User/Account name for registration.
f) If you set Register Authentication to yes (digest), enter the Password
of the TalkSwitch unit. All devices will require this Password for
registration.
4. If another location has the TalkSwitch unit that will act as the SIP server
for a multi-location network:
a) Clear the This TalkSwitch location is the Proxy/Registrar check box.
b) Enter the IP address or domain name of the Proxy Server. If a
TalkSwitch unit is acting as the SIP server, this is the IP address of
the SIP server.
If the SIP server is using a different port number than the default,
specify the port number after a colon at the end of the IP address or
domain name (e.g. 123.456.789.012:3456).
c) Enter the IP address or domain name of the Registrar Server. If a
TalkSwitch unit is acting as the SIP server, this is the IP address of
the SIP server.
d) If a VoIP service provider will be used, enter the Outbound Proxy
associated with the service provider.
e) Enter the Realm/Domain name of the VoIP network. If a TalkSwitch
unit is acting as the SIP server, this is the Realm/Domain of the SIP
server.
f) Enter the User/Account name of the registrar server. If a TalkSwitch
unit is acting as the SIP server, this is the IP address of the SIP
server.
g) Enter the Password of the registrar server. If a TalkSwitch unit is
acting as the SIP server, this is the IP address of the SIP server.

Setting up a service provider profile

A service provider profile contains the registration details of the service
provider's SIP server.
