3-WAY CALLING/CONFERENCE

The 3-Way Calling/Conference service allows you to add a third party to a call
already in progress. It permits the Same Line Connect feature to be used with
call forwarding, call back and call bridge (DISA), whether you have one or
more telephone lines. With Same Line Connect, TalkSwitch can use the same
telephone line to connect a second external caller.
If you are having difficulties with line volume levels when you forward calls
to remote extensions or when you are using call bridge, forward calls using 3-
Way Calling/Conference.
The 3-Way Calling/Conference service is not recommended with automatic
route selection (ARS) or toll restriction. The TalkSwitch unit cannot route or
block calls established through 3-Way Calling/Conference.

TRANSFER AND CLEAR

The Transfer and Clear service allows you to add a third party to a call
already in progress. Transfer and Clear is similar to 3-Way Calling/
Conference, but allows the two external parties to remain in conversation
after you hang up. Transfer and Clear is also known as FeatureLine or
Centrex/Plexar.
If you have the Transfer and Clear service, you must enable the Transfer and
Clear feature. Select the Clear telephone line after call transferred check box
in the Option > Transfer Options page. You must also select the Transfer
and Clear check box in the System Administration > Telephone Lines page.
With Transfer and Clear, the TalkSwitch unit can release the telephone line
after transferring a call to a remote extension. Otherwise the telephone line
will remain occupied while the caller is connected to the remote extension.
If you don't have the service but enable the feature, the caller will be
disconnected when the unit attempts to forward their call to the remote
extension.
The Transfer and Clear service may require the remote extension to be
answered before it can transfer the call and clear the line. If so, select one of
the screening options in the call cascade of the remote extension. See
Remote Extensions on page 117.
