a) Select the auto attendant. You can assign the same auto attendant to
multiple telephone lines. Alternatively, if different organizations
share the TalkSwitch system, a different auto attendant can be
assigned to each telephone line.
b) Select when the auto attendant should play. Choices range from
immediately to after 9 rings. If you select immediately, the Check
extensions area is disabled; otherwise the selected local extensions
will first ring in sequence, as described in Step 5.
7. If you selected Go to voice mailbox:
a) Select the voice mailbox. You can select a local extension mailbox,
remote extension mailbox, or general voice mailbox.
b) Select when the voice mailbox should answer. Choices range from
immediately to after 9 rings. If you select immediately, the Check
extensions area is disabled; otherwise the selected local extensions
will first ring in sequence, as described in Step 5.
8. Repeat Steps 3 to 7 for each mode.

LOCAL EXTENSIONS

The Call Handling > Local Extensions page allows you to set up call
cascades for each local extension. A call cascade routes an incoming call,
depending upon whether the local extension is busy, unanswered, answered,
or in Do Not Disturb mode. Each local extension can have one or two call
cascades; for Mode 1 and Mode 2. When the system is in Holiday Mode, the
local extensions will use the call cascade for Mode 1 or Mode 2.
For example, if a call reaches your desk and you are away, you can have the
call transferred to another local extension. If the partner's extension does
not pick up, the call can be routed to your cell phone. If you do not answer
your cell phone, the call is transferred to your voice mailbox.

How call cascades work

A call interacts with an extension's call cascade in three phases: the call
enters the call cascade, is routed by the call cascade, and then exits the call
cascade.

Entering the call cascade

First, a call enters the extension's call cascade. This occurs when:
